One of my most popular beginner-friendly quilt patterns - a modern twist on the traditional Sampler Quilt! This quilt pattern starts with a simple Nine Patch block and by following the step-by-step instructions for each block, you will gain confidence in machine piecing, curved blocks, appliqué and foundation paper piecing. Includes 13 full size template pages, so no photocopying or enlargement required. Suitable for a beginner who can sew a 1/4" seam allowance who is looking for a pattern that will build confidence, skills and enjoyment! The final layout can be re-arranged to your design - the mix and match block sizes enable you to make this quilt your own - what colours and fabrics will you choose?!

For my quilt sample I used a mix of solid and print fabrics to create a colourful quilt design, however, the solid fabrics I chose were mostly "tone on tone" blender fabrics which I think add some texture. I also used a mix of large and small scale prints, to give "movement" within the design. Within this pattern I refer to the colours shown in the diagram above. However, you can choose whatever colours and combination of solid and print fabrics to make this quilt - just remember to clearly label your fabrics before you begin!
